Bendcrete Leisure Limited partnered with the Vale of Glamorgan Council to embark on an exciting project – the design and construction of a specialist concrete skate park at Cold Knap, Barry Island.
Creating a skate park is not only an invitation for enthusiasts but also a challenge in terms of security. The site faced the dual threat of potential theft by criminals and the risk of children gaining unauthorised access as the park developed.
Client Concerns: The unique construction using specialist concrete raised significant concerns. Any damage to the concrete could result in costly delays in opening the park.

This fully autonomous tower featured four cameras, providing complete 360-degree coverage of the site. To deter unauthorised access, the tower was equipped with a live audio speaker, enabling us to warn individuals attempting to enter the site.
